The Department of Automobile Engineering students of NEHRU COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND RESEARCH CENTRE , Thrissur have designed the first ever four wheeler concept tilting vehicle as a part of their final year project programme . The team comprising of four members Siddarth Sankar S, Jayakrishnan K , Jayakrishnan M and Martin Vattakuzhy named their concept vehicle as ‘THE FALCON’. The chief feature of the falcon is to provide higher stability during cornering at high speeds at the same time tilting the whole chassis frame in the inward direction of the turn, thereby decreasing the turning radius. The frame for the falcon was designed into a new dimension with a centre rigid frame and two side frames (split chassis). The side frames are connected to the centre frame using ball bearings which have the ability to hold two passengers on either of the two side frame. The power plant comes on the centre frame in between the two passenger cabins. The small scale model which was fabricated by the team used electronic circuits and sensors to provide the steering mechanism. The team has extended their sincere gratitude to the members of the management, the Director Academic Dr.K.Raghavan Nambiar and their project guide Mr. Sreeji Namboothiri for their support.... YEAH ... this was the article that was supposed to come in a newspaper but so far has not which really gets on to my nerves.. but then when i think again thanks to my brother i have started blogging and i guess i couldnt have asked for a better place than this,.. cheers..
