I have been making a list of things that i have had a big time inherent relationship with.. and unsurprisingly GUITAR comes at number 1.. I have a long association with guitars and no, im not a professional...
I think it all started when i was 2 years old as far as i can remember.. My moms guitar.. She used to play the guitar and every time we visit my grandmother in Cochin , she used to play and sing for me.. I loved holding my moms guitar which was Mexican and looked like one of those from Elvis Presley videos... I never played on it though, i still dont.. Impossible to play on it rather , its an antique now..
To my 3rd Grade when i got my first strumming lesson from the Father at the church in town.. he was real hard on me i remember, soon after i learned the chords i dropped out...
My first orchestra performance in 5th grade which i was very nervous about and i cried a lot too as my strings kept breaking while in rehearsal before the show and ultimately all i could play was the "G" in the spotlight..
My early teens, when i lost love for everything and took to hip hop.. leaving my beloved Guitar buried in the farthest and the darkest corner in my room..
IRON MAIDEN the first ever Metal band that i listened to which reignited my passion for Guitars..
My High school friends who put together a school band excluding me from the list.. It was like the whole world was over for me.. i stayed in my room for a whole day, makes me laugh when i think about it today..
And my own Band that i formed in college being the front-man.. CLUELESS , an awesome and unforgettable four years with the band, on the road , the pranks , the rock band lifestyle, the spotlight , the amps, the microphone and most importantly .. A dream i lived..
My today... strumming my old guitar in my room and singing my own poems.. re living those good old memories.. Life hasn't been that great but it sure was worth living.. ;)
